Mirjam Plantinga has accepted to become a member of the External Expert Advisory Board for the BRIDGES Project. Mirjam is an economist and philosopher by training and received a PhD in Behavioral and Social Sciences at the University of Groningen (UMCG), the Netherlands. She is appointed at the University Medical Center Groningen, as senior researcher at the department of Genetics in the Ethical, Legal and Social Implications (ELSI) group and a visiting research fellow at Clinical Ethics and Law (CELS)  at the University of Southampton.

Her research focuses on the rapid developments in genetic and genomic technologies and the accompanying challenges from implementation to clinical practice and society.
